Crafted circa the 1960s, this hand-fabricated vintage ring exemplifies the clean lines and innovative design of the Modernist era. Rendered in glowing 14K rose gold, the piece features four natural round citrine quartz beads, each prong-set within a constellation of four curved plates. Together, they form an “orbit” motif—a signature of Kauppi’s visionary aesthetic.
The citrines, assumed to be heat-treated, exhibit a medium brownish-yellow hue (GIA yO 5/3), with a total weight of 3.56 carats. The stones display a very good cut and are moderately included, adding character and depth to their golden glow.
The ring measures 18.47mm across and rises 12.17mm above the finger, making a confident and dimensional statement. The flat ring shank is 4.83mm wide, polished to a high sheen, and marked “585 FINLAND” alongside Kauppi’s hallmark—an anvil within an oval. The ring is currently a size 8.25.
