One stamped & tested 18KT yellow gold lady's hand made antique diamond brooch with a bright polish finish. The "Rose" form brooch was hand crafted by the French jewelry house of Mellerio, a family owned company since 1613. The piece has Hallmarks for Paris, France that overlap 1912-1919. The brooch measures 25.7 mm X 16.9 mm. The Rose flower is designed as 7 pierced petals that are articulated, with a ball and socket joint, to allow the flower to be adjusted from fully open to a closed bud. The petals have a total of 19 Single cut Diamonds spaced out along the hand cut edges. The central Pistil of the flower is stationary, with the surrounding 18 Stamens are attatched to the main body en tremblant, by use of an articulated ball joint. The 19 Round Brilliant cut Diamonds are set in applied 4-prong Platinum mountings, on top of the stalks. The double pins on the reverse of the piece are Platinum and measure 26.3 mm and 24.6 mm. The back of the rose stem is hallmarked with the right facing "Dog Head" for objects with Platinum starting in 1912, as well as the right facing "Eagle Head" dating from 1847-1919, and is hand engraved MELLERIO Paris and JB 3653. The brooch is accompanied by the original, arch toped, leather covered box. Trademark is Melleiro, Paris France. Identified with markings of "Hallmarks, Paris France". Condition is like new.
