One stamped & tested 800 silver lady's hand fabricated dress, evening compact with a hand engraved finish. The dress, evening make-up compact measures 4 3/4" X 3 1/8" X 7/8". The piece is Circa 1940'2-1950's. The snap, hinged, scroll-work closure has 2 Round cut Rubies, bezel set in the design. The flower basket and surrounding floral motif, hand engraved front cover has 14 Round cut Rubies in multi-prong settings. The flat sides and curved front and hidden hinge are all hand engraved with floral motif designs as well. The interior has a beveled edge mirror, with original comb, a spring-up lipstick holder, a snap closure blush powder compartment with original puff, as well as a spring closure for money or a Dance Card. The compact has it's original Black suede leather cover, with satin lining, snap closures and hand strap. Identified with markings of "800". Condition is like new.
